Okay... I was thinking about this last night, and I'm sort of curious-- I wonder how much notice the writers/animators got about this? Ep10 is already done, and presumably 11 was mostly done too-- so were they just told, "Oh, by the way, we changed our minds, so wrap everything up in ep12 somehow"? Or will it just be an vague, "open" ending (with the possibility for a second season)? It just seems like such a sudden thing. For example, I doubt they would've spent time with that "Usami & Hiro as children" flashback episode if they knew they only had 3 more episodes to both introduce & finish the Terrorist couple. That's ridiculous.
I don't expect anybody here to actually know the answers of course, but now I'm very curious to see how ep12 ends (I'll be looking for those raws next week).

I think why people suspect it was planned is because only 12 episode titles were ever released. Also, the official site apparently only lists 12 episodes. And as someone pointed out, the ending to episode 12 won't really tell us anything. It was strongly believed Loveless would have a second season because it had no proper ending (and was hinted at in the omake) and yet that hasn't happened.
Still, people are really hoping that this is just a break to regenerate interest amongst fans. Even if it is the end for now, the manga is ongoing. Maybe they'll try again later?
It makes me sad though, I really wanted more Terrorist stories ...

And Aarin has released episode 10! Which, I've already seen subbed on Veoh but at least it can be downloaded now. Go forth and love Terrorist, FTV viewers. And then love it even more in episode 11 because Shinobu is way too cute in that episode (I hope it's subbed soon by someone, my Japanese isn't good enough to catch the serious conversation).

ETA: Apparently Junjou is not the only anime produced by Studio Deen this season that got mysteriously shortened. No word yet on why though.

awww... i watched episodes 10 & 11 already. with that, i'm really sad that they're cutting it short because terrorist came out hanging - i was like "weh... that's it? they went home?" and just after chiisai_hana got me all worked up for terrorist.
however, it seems to make sense they're ending it... romantica and egotist were already at that point where they are living in harmony already with each other (though those of us who read the manga know there's more ^^).

i got to watch the raw of episode 12. i'm pissed for the sole reason that it left me hanging. i mean, i would have found the episode cute and funny if i didn't know that it was the last episode.

Huh. Yeah, I'm waiting for the subs since it's not my beloved Terrorist! because the general impression of the episode doesn't seem to be "OMG WOW" like the last few. I wonder how accurate that site is though ... I haven't heard anything more about a second season - rather, people seem to have quite the opposite impression! I guess we'll find out

You can check it out if you want, but there's really nothing much there. Just saying that it will premiere in the fall... The site is one of the most trusted in anime databases so I'm fairly optimistic about it because it's never failed me before. But my fear is that this site is more fan-driven than admin-driven.

You know, I actually heard this rumor over in the ANN forum a few days ago. Someone was talking about some other anime, and they commented that they hoped it was "taking a summer break, and coming back for a 2nd season in the fall, like Junjou Romantica" (paraphrase). I posted a response asking about that comment, but they never responded to me. But I'm glad to hear someone else has heard this, too. Maybe it's true? *crosses fingers*
Anyway, got v06 of the manga in the mail yesterday, and it's wonderful as always. I really hope I get to see it animated (eventually)!

I'd agree that it was a weak episode. It certainly had it's moments, but there was a lot of awkward moments too. I feel they could have done a better job in using time and making it more interesting to watch. It opened really strong - I loved the beginning of the episode with Takahiro. But the second half just wasn't doing it for me (and the animation seemed weaker at times, too).

i just watched it... it's nothing but a little interview (called pre-TV anime episode)with all the seiyuus from all three couples via Junjou Web Radio. it was nice ~i really like Inuoe Kazuhiko, Miyagi's seiyuu. he's been the most fun the series.

At last, the rumours can be put to rest. Thanks kit. I"m a bit apprehensive but ... at least we'll get more animated Terrorist all that matters, clearly. We need to get past all the pseudo-rape scenes so people can make amvs where Miyagi and Shinobu are on the same page and being cute/together. Plus, the love confession at sensei's grave will be awesome <3
