Not long after he is whisked into Eiko’s office.
After getting called out on staring, Kyoya is given the task of checking on the illustrator; Minori Ayaka. The pair finally get in contact with her.
It seems Minori has reached some kind of writer’s block and needs a kick up the backside! Her manager is anxious.

With the work problem solved, it is back to more domestic issues… Maki is not eating her vegetables!

Turns out Aki has stopped drawing for years and the reason she stopped is for the very same reason he heard earlier today. He is stunned by this turn of events
Upon reaching work Kyoya gets a dressing down about the lack of character designs…
He asks Eiko out for lunch to get a better idea of the in-work dynamics and the penny drops that Aki retired from her profession just to be his wife.
It becomes clear that this future is based on the changes Kyoya made in art school. He checks out what has happened to Nanako and Tsurayuki and is disturbed with what he finds. His previous actions have actually resulted in things turning out for the worst!
Kyoya finally gets the unsettling truth; his actions have effectively dismantled the platinum generation and stolen their dreams! Understandably he is distraught.
When he gets home Kyoya breaks down in front of Aki and Maki!
Aki and Kyoya share an intimate conversation of what made her stop pursuing her artwork. It is a combination of things and whilst Kyoya played a part in making her quit there were other factors at work too. Despite Aki being at peace with her decision Kyoya still regrets his short-sightedness.
Episode 10
It’s a month since the time skip and Kyoya is finally getting into the swing of work.
A sudden outburst from Maki leads Aki to make the statement that all things have a spirit. I wonder if this remark will have some future significance?
At work the management lay it on that they must meet their quarterly targets. It is at that moment Kyoya realises that it isn’t just Minori who has gone AWOL from team A.
It is at the moment he is asked for another favour!
Seems like there is trouble with Minori’s work getting completed by the deadline so they pay her another visit.
But upon opening the door…
The girl is in cosplay! Apparently, her creative block was worse than she let on initially. Minori tried to fix things by changing up her attire but that has not done the trick. She looks defeated…
The pair take a moment to reflect on what happened. Why do I get the sense Kyoya will use this problem to get Aki to draw again?
Back at HQ and the sh*t hits the fan for team A. The project MUST release on time and it MUST use Minori’s illustrations! Morale in the team is shot.
Seeing an impending train wreck Kyoya arranges lunch with Eiko. It turns out that project has a snowball’s chance in hell of releasing on time in a satisfactory state. The game engine is wonky and that is effecting the script. The lack of animation submissions means they cannot complete the final design in terms of art. There is not nearly enough time to get it done and even the gung-ho Eiko is at her wits end and is ready to throw the towel.
Kyoya goes to the CEO of the company to propose a delay in the games release but is shut down. He is then given a poignant remainder; do not meddle in matters that don’t concern him.
Considering previous events Kyoya takes that advice to heart and let’s things pan out.
The game does release on time but with a whole host of bugs as he envisioned.
At home it would seem Maki has got the artist bug.
She asks Aki to draw a horse but she refuses. Kyoya decides to step up to the plate and draw the horse. Maki is quick to point that his horsie is rubbish!
Kyoya receives an urgent call. It would seem the bugs have become game breaking and are causing havoc!
He is drawn back to the office where there is a full-blown argument between Eiko and the CEO.
Fearing what happened in the past, Kyoya is rooted to his spot and can’t make a move.
Kyoya keeps his nerve and decides to stay out of this. He switches his computer on and finds that Nanako has released a new vid! An original to boot!
It's like this video came at the perfect moment and the content within spurs Kyoya to take action!
