an Otaku in Japan means you are obsess over somthing, in this case it means u are obsessed with Animes. If u watched the J-Drama Densha Otoko u will see ppl are just crazy. They can memorize all the voice-actors/directors/animator directors/production companies name....and etc...basically its really hardcore....but i guess the standards in America is just basically watch alot of animes and etc...if im an otaku then im a Ecchi/Hentai otaku....
Yeah I know what it means to an Otaku in Japan but I just wanted everybodies own view on what they would call a HARDCORE Otaku in America. Also I love your Ecchi Pic section keep up the good work. And also do you consider yourself an Otaku?
hmm what makes someone an otaku... just the love of it is all. you can't really know unless you borrow someones brain to see how much times anime runs through their mind. and it's like a guy with 100 anime dvds doesn't necessarily make him more of an otaku than someone with 5. it's about heart dammit... and you have to watch hentai to be a real otaku
nah jk but really I'm not
Do they fansub Hentai lol. if they didn't the world would be a sad place, or maybe I'd just learn japanese
yeah, hentai is something you need to watch to be otaku
the fact why i consider myself as otaku is... that i watch anime at least 4 hours a day :/ starting cosplay, still learning japanese (ah, those raw shuffle eps
that's kool, I'll wait till they stop subbing hentai then maybe I'll learn the other 95% of japanese I don't know =P
QUOTE (Bouzip @ Nov 17 2005, 08:31 AM)and learning it is pretty easy...in some parts :/ i started watching raws! >.>
easy lol, ur lucky you see it that way cuz to me it's way harder than spanish or french
Do you like video games? Do you often find yourself wanking off to cartoon porn? Have you ever gotten caught for kidnapping women and forcing them to wear maid costumes?
If you answered yes to most of these questions, chances are you are an otaku with no sense of fashion. But fret not, my fellow otaku, Datsu Otaku Fasshon Gaido (The Escape from Otaku Fashion Guide) is here to help you!
If all else fails, ask Anonymous for advice. Worked for the Train Man.
I feel you on that I want to get to a point were I can watch Anime like I watch American programs and not read the subtitles and watch them Raw not thats an American Otaku lol
Hmm, i like anime , and hentai too *cough*
but i`m not that much of an otaku , i think , i dont know any voice-actors and stuff like that , and my 40gb hd prevents me from storing animes i like.
guess i`m still a little kouhai
What makes me an otaku? i guess its the fact that my happiest moments in life are anime conventions... or that i get broadband just to download anime!... or that since i saw dragon ball in tv I just couldnt stop wathing anime (everyone sterted with dragon ball
??????)
Well, one thing is certain, you dont decide to be an otaku, you just know when you are alredy one.
the first step is accept it.

FALSE
I will admit I started obsessively with Sailor Moon, but then what girl didn't? Though my first anime was Samurai Pizza Cats (so we can conclude that dubs do some good, or they did when they were limited in number).
